australian east coast photo diary
If you follow my instagram account, most of you probably know that I was away for a while, exploring the Australian East Coast. What I've seen there was incredibly awesome and probably one of the best experience in my life. We drove - like a road trip with a bunch of nice people - from Brisbane up to Cairns, stopping from Islands to Islands.
Our first stop was Fraser Island, no network but who cares? It felt so great being out of social media for a while. Landscape were just like Paradise and to be honest, I already regret not being there anymore. Between 75miles beach, tropical forest and crystal clear Lake McKenzie, the first stop already blew my mind. The state of Queensland shown me how this gigantic world actually hides tiny little places worth visiting.
We then stopped to Whitsunday Islands, after an overnight bus trip. Probably the most uncomfortable thing ever but definitely worth it. From the sunrise we went sailing over the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling and swimming with turtles, as well as sunbathing of course! Since I had no summer yet I couldn't wait to get some colour over my body! The sun rays are quite strong here though it's nothing compared to Europe!! Although I never wear sunscreen, this time was indispensable. After all this long day the delicious lunch on the boat was very welcome! I had the best chicken and lettuce wrap of my whole life.
The next stop was Magnetic Island, where we stayed on a beautiful resort. Then we went up to Mission Beach, close to Cairns for some skydiving and rafting. Skydiving was probably the best experience in my whole life so far! A bit scary at first but definitely worth it. The feeling you get once you're up there on the plane is hard to define. All I can say is: do it if you can.
Last destination was Cairns. Again, boating, sailing, sunbathing and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef. Overall, these were the most beautiful and enjoyable 10 days of my life. I fell in love with these tiny little places and above all, Australia. I would stay in the country forever if I could. It's also crazy for me to enjoy this kind of weather at this time of the year. Usually used of scarves and jumpers in October, being in bikini and turquoise water was definitely one of the most amazing experience I've had.
Sending you all my greetings from a very sunshine state, although I'm back in Sydney now. Weather has dropped from 30C to barely 20C but I'm sure it will warm up soon. Stay tuned on instagram for further news, folks!
Wish you were here!
